Open Company Data Index
A measure of the openness of company registries around the world, and a unified and networked search to 70 million companies from all open registries.
- Check if the company registry in your country is fully open
- Check who you are doing business with using a one-click due diligence platform
- Visualize corporations’ global network of affiliates and explore their corporate structures
- Reveal beneficial ownerships to curb corruption, mitigate risks and increase efficiency
Corporate transparency and accountability are a crucial part of the solution to fully unlock the potential impact of the private sector on development. The Open Company Data Index looks at the state of play of how countries enable information transparency about registered corporations. By aggregating open registry information, this tool, operated with our partner OpenCorporates, generates open-source, transnational datasets that can help curb corruption, check beneficial ownership, and deepen competitiveness analysis, so that the private sector can also benefit from transparency.
Open Supply Chain Platform
An open data platform for any companies worldwide, large or small, to report on environmental, social and governance practices and make those visible to purchasers.
- Creates a level-playing field to improve competitiveness through transparency.
- Enhances companies’ visibility among global purchasers and supply chain aggregators.
- Enables businesses to craft their own Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) profiles online.
The Open Supply Chain Platform aims to encourage businesses to self-report on a basic series of governance and sustainability indicators. A rating system is included to help companies and purchasers evaluate progress. The open data system stimulates transparency efforts and facilitates the visibility of smaller companies vis-à-vis global supply chains. Companies can report on labor conditions, health and safety measures, environmental indicators and business ethics and third-party certifications. The Open Supply Chain Platform is based on collaboration with Sedex Global, and other supply chain aggregators like Ecodesk, who developed a country dashboard to accompany the system, which will be fully launched in October 2014.
Open Government Contracts Platform
A free open data portal to search, manage and monitor government contracts and procurement opportunities globally, on a level playing field.
- Provides a single marketplace of government contracts.
- Helps generate leads, monitor contracting processes and improve public procurement transparency.
- Enables a level-playing field for any bidders around the world.
The Open Government Contracts Platform aims to provide instant visibility into government contracting opportunities. The Platform facilitates a transparent process to the provision of machine-readable public procurement contracts. It promotes accountability in government contracts, land and mining concessions, and procurement and dialogue processes, through the promotion of norms, practices, increased transparency, and monitoring of public contracting. In doing so, businesses would be offered the possibility to access cross-border bidding opportunities on a level playing field. The Platform’s goal is to allow contract transparency at a global scale. Both government users (who can upload contract data or integrate their existing open-data solutions into it) and the private sector (who can access all the data in a single marketplace) can benefit from its user-friendly approach to contracting transparency. This Platform is operated with Govini and the Open Contracting community.
Beneficiary Feedback App Store
Feedback-loop tools and geo-mapping technologies for companies to track and resolve social, governance and sustainability issues along their supply chains.
- Enhances access to open data, feedback loops, mobile polling, and geo-mapping technologies and service providers, so that companies can increase accountability and traceability by connecting to constituents at the bottom of the pyramid.
- A marketplace where companies can broadcast RFPs to service providers when they want to generate feedback measures to mitigate risks, underwrite reputations, build capacity, and create shared value.
This App Store links to digital engagement solutions that can enable companies to collect feedback from consumers and suppliers to help improve service delivery, measure labor or social conditions, and monitor environmental impact. Innovative applications which catalyze the engagement with those that sit at the very bottom of the global supply chains are gathered and those who want to design citizen engagement or feedback loop solutions can access all the vendors through an RFP broadcasting solution (upcoming). The Beneficiary Feedback App Store is co-developed by Keystone Accountability, the Feedback Labs, and the World Bank’s Digital Engagement program.
